MY POEM READS DANDY & TART

MY POEM READS DANDY
(Used in Drug & Dynamics)
I first noted the length of the assigned chapter that I was going to be reading, I decided since it was pretty lengthy that I should split it up into chunks per day. So the reading was 60 pages long with mass amounts of information. So I chose to read 15 pages in the morning before lunch, and 15 pages when I got back from class, and I followed with the same plan for the next day so that I ended up reading 30 paiges per day and finishing the reading in 2 days which I believe is pretty resonable. I know myself and I know that if I went to sit down and say to myself I am going to read 60 pages right now, in this sitting, I would probably not do it to the best of my ability and I would not understand/overread many important topics. Before each reading I made sure to take a quick sneak peak this only took a 2-3 minutes, noticing the headings, the different topics I would be learning about, it allowed me to make mental notes of where each topic was located, basically just got a better idea of what the chapter was about. As I started reading I made sure to take notes on the margins and to underline or highlight any important concept that I thought might be beneficial to know. After I completed all 4 chunks of the readings I made a graphic organixer of the information that I just read. This is awesome because it allows you look at the bigger scope of the chapter all on one paige. It serves as a effective study aid that is beneficial to any exam or paper that you might have to complete. I plan on making a graphic organizer from now on after I read any chapter or book of any type.

I would like to first begin my saying that the strategie TART was extremely useful. I felt like I was ahead of the game. First I started by briefly looking over the chapter, reading the topic titles above each section and paragraph, just so I knew what I was dealing with. After looking over the chapter, I went ahead and located the frequently used terms that were found at the begining of the chapter. I read through each term and wrote them down in my own words that I would better understand and remeber. After writing down all the terms in my notebook I went ahead and made nicknames for the terms. This deffenitly helped me to become more familiar with the terminology that the professor used in class. When I went to my lecture, after looking over the chaper, I was able to understand what the professor was talking about alot more easily and also alot quicker because I was already familiar with the termonolgy and the topic for that lecture. It helped me take effective notes in class and it also motivated me more because I knew what was going on. After I left the lecture I went and read the chapter and I was able to get through the chaper much more quickly then I normally do because I had so much exposure to the material beforehand this time. I then created test questions that i thought could possibly appear on a exam. I answered the test questions with no problems and it made me less anxious for my actual test that is coming up.
